Depends on why they're an ex. If they're an abusive psychopath, I'd have to say it's not the best idea.
Otherwise, as long as the breakup wasn't acrimonious, I see no reason why not. Friends with benefits. A friend in need is a friend indeed!

If each was willing and niether felt abused... I would not impose on my ex and I know she's grateful for that. And right now, I have another to whom I made certain promisses. I somehow feel obligated to live up to them as best I can.

It's fine as long as everyone understands and abides by "the rules" and no one starts catching feelings again, which usually doesn't happen..

been there, done that....guess its fine until something better comes along, just as long as you dont hate your ex or love them....either of those emotions will complicate things
