Depends on why they're an ex. If they're an abusive psychopath, I'd have to say it's not the best idea.
Otherwise, as long as the breakup wasn't acrimonious, I see no reason why not. Friends with benefits. A friend in need is a friend indeed!

If each was willing and niether felt abused... I would not impose on my ex and I know she's grateful for that. And right now, I have another to whom I made certain promisses. I somehow feel obligated to live up to them as best I can.
