Alright .. let me see if I can put this into words!!!
When you are adding a positive and a negitive you take the bigger number and subtract the smaller number from it. Then if the bigger number is positive the answer is positve but if its negitive the answer will be negitive. Heres an example.
-32 So first you wanna subtract 32 from50
+ 50
----------
18 and then since the bigger number was positve the answer is positive. If the 50 was negitive and the 32 positive you would still subtract 32 from 50 and get 18 but since the bigger number would be negitive the answer would be negitive.
Hope I helped on that one. I have some other ways i could help you so just email me at jessi7teen@yahoo.com or IM at jessi7teen for anymore help.

when u multiply 2 negatives it equals a positive but when you multiply one negative and one positive it always equals a negative. Theres a whole web page about this stuff on this website http://www.mathleague.com/help/posandneg/posandneg.htm#addingpositiveandnegativenumbers
