Religiously, Anointing means that the Holy spirit is with you and/or working through you. In the Bible, it tells that there are 3 parts of God (the trinity). They include, the Father, Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. There is only 1 God these are kinda "characteristics" of God. The Father made the Earth and everything and makes everything happen (the wind to blow, the sun to rise); the Son is Jesus, he came to Earth and died for our sins. And the Holy Spirit ( aka Holy Ghost) is what tells you something is wrong, bad, gives you peace after something bad may have happened, etc. He is also the one that gives you talent. For example, you hear someone singing a song and you think it's nice, whatever, but if the anointing is on them, you'd feel it. You may get chill bumps or feel like crying. In my Pentecostal church, sometimes the preacher will be talking and people will feel like crying, that's God's anointing on him. To sum it up: Anointing is God giving you talent.

An anointing is a gift from God that he may have given you for a purpose. Maybe you feel things that others dont, or can always see the truth. Maybe you have a gift with children or can tell when a person is ill or getting ill. These are gifts- annointings. A gift that God has only given to you for a reason. You are his child and very special if you have one, and usually you dont have to tell anyone, but you know if you have one even if you do not know why. People can see it and they are usually drawn to you, but they wont know what it is.
