Well, you can't log into Windows without a password - it's not designed that way. And Windows has additional safety's built in to protect files in the event someone tries. For example, you might be able to log in as an administrator using that account and whatever password you used to build the machine, if you have any idea what that was - if it came pre-loaded, that night not even be possible. But if you do, and you go in and try to reset your own account password, it will likely permanently change access for certain things.

I would actually suggest that your best bet is to reload Windows. But, DO NOT FORMAT THE DRIVE - you actually want to specify a different install folder (i.e. windows1) when it asks, and do a standard install. You can then get into the machine and backup any data you want to save - documents, music, downloads, whatever - back them up to an external source.

Then, re-install Windows again from scratch - this time format and do a completely clean install. You can now reload everything and this time, keep your password to yourself!!

yes, there are programs that you can download, and then put them on a CD, after that you put it in while computer is booting, and it'll skip the log in screen and it will go straight to windows, so you can change you password then. go to http://www.download.com and search there. good luck.
