Donating eggs is a length process and not everyone is eligible. I actually read more on this when my school newspaper kept offering it saying you could make so much money. However you have to be willing to go through numerous tests for genetics, blood work, and others. They only take certain candidates ranging from age 18-i believe cut off being 35. This site http://www.docshop.com/education/fertility/treatments/egg-sperm-donation/donors-recipients/ will answer your questions on what a donor is and how to become one. compensations, and what are the risks of being an egg donor. Hope this info helps in your decision

I actually donated eggs. I was in England and received no monatary compensation because of laws there. However, be prepared for a lengthy process. You will have to fill out a medical history questionaire which will include family history of heart disease, cancer, etc. You will also give about a gallon of blood (highly exaggerated, but it seems like it) for genetic testing to make sure you don't carry any markers for genetic defects. You will then probably have some psychological exams to make sure that you won't go hunt down any kids that are your biological children and try to take them away from the woman who carried them and gave birth. Once you are done with this, there are shots that you will be taught to give to yourself or your husband can learn to give them. Also, no sex during these treatments. The risk of you having a multiples pregnancy is extremely high. After all this, they will "harvest" the mature eggs. This can be a painful process, but not necessarily. However, I personally found that it was worth it to aleviate the emotional distress of another woman.
I can not have children because of the fact that I have no fallopian tubes (born without them). I am just glad that I was able to help a woman who has experienced what I did when I learned that I would not have children the "old fashioned way." I am personally in touch with the lady who received my eggs. I do not wish to get photos or updates of the twin girls she gave birth to (identical twins at that). However, it has been a good thing because I am able to give her any new information on my medical history that may impact her daughters. There is a history of cancer and heart disease in my family, but she was willing to take that risk.
You are very right in thinking that it can be a fulfilling experience. I know that when I think about what I did for that lady and her husband, I smile. I helped bring a joy to their lives that they could not do on their own. You will not regret your decision. Talk to your doctor about this and go for it!!! The world needs more women like you who are willing to help those who can't get pregnant, but can give birth.

In the back of a lot of glossy womens mags there are usually adverts and also contact your local fertility centre they will be able to point you in the right direction.
Fair play to you for thinking of doing this selfless act which could bring so much joy to another woman. As the second lady said there will be a huge work up to donating and there are many exclusions to it
The main exclusions being age 9 Under 35 in the uk)and certain genetic disorders. Aslo at the fertility clinic I worked at we didnt except PCOS sufferers as they were more like to suffer Ovarian hyper stimulation. Also people with sickle cell were excluded these are just a few

Sperm is plenty much less annoying to donate than an egg is. All you will desire to do is spill in a cup in case you're male. for a woman there is definitely some surgical technique in touch. Plus women in easy terms have a constrained form of eggs at an identical time as adult men can continuously produce sperm.
