Yes and no. Its another topic that depending on who you ask will determine the answer.
Since everyone has a different view and idea of what beautiful is then, yes beauty would be in the eye of the beholder. That beholder subject to being viewed by others may or may not be beautiful themselves. However, there are some things that ANYONE can find beauty and enjoyment in so that doesn't count.

Of course it's in the eye of the beholder. Only you can see the beauty that you are attracted to. Don't let anyone fool ya on that part.

I say definitely, My husband thinks I'm beautiful and I'm sure most wouldn't. In the past I have thought guys were hot and one of my girlfriends thought they were ugly. Everyone like a different kind of person. My husband is totally hot to me but would everyone else think he is who knows. Sometimes a persons inside can shine brighter than their outside.

yes. there are people who the world views as beautiful , but why? maybe its their fame and fortune that make them beautiful. there are a lot of 'pretty faces' that are boring and all look the same. some people think blondes with long hair are hot even if their face isnt the nicest. there are so many factors contributing to this...people have different likes and dislikes. i know sometimes i find people unattractive that everyone else seems to think is so hot. i think when everyone seems to agree that someone is hot, it may not have so much to do with their beauty rather than their personality/style/hair or whatever. a lot of guys dont even look at girls faces, its all about body or hair.
a lot of people think paris hiltons hot but i think she is ugly, hooked nose, and looks like she is alwyas on drugs. lifes weird like that. i think beauty is looking unique and being yourself, not trying to look like everyone else.being happy about being you.,

Yes, to me it is! Have you ever walked up to one of your friends and family members and have said "Wow, you look really good!" and they reply "ewe i am ugly." that is what i use to prove m,y point, you thought they looked stunning, they did not!
