I just rented this movie and I'm totally disappointed in the plot. Anyone else have an opinion on it? Anyone heard if there will be another one made? I heard yes and no.

Most X-Men fans are split on this movie. It is likely the best of the three, but will still never measure up to the comics.
I found it very disappointing myself.
As far as other films go, there is a Wolverine movie already in production, but this film did not make as much money as the producers (and director) had hoped, so it is unlikely there will be another very soon, and even then, many of the actors are tired of the characters and will not return. It is likely that there will be other character movies, but perhaps not an ensemble film again.

For X fans this was not a very enjoyable movie in that it creates a fiction that does not agree with the comic books, but nothing in it is for certain. The cure does not appear to be permanent and Xaxier does not appear to be dead if you sat through the credits. Apparently the body treats the cure as a virus and antibodies apparently build up and destroy the cure, even though the cure himself seems to be unstoppable unless you kill him. The story right now is that Storm, (Hallie Berry), wants out of the series, so that makes xmen 4 unlikely, but that may just be a contract negotiation. Jean is probably dead, maybe alive, wierd because they burried her. Xavier is in a Hospital. Magneto is in an old folks home building his powers. I am pretty sure the basic cast will back if they want them. It is all about the money at this time. One bad movie means it is less likely given the high payroll.

I personally liked X-Men 3, my only problem was they went a little too far with all the extra characters, we could have did without Spike, I'm mean really he didn't do anything for the movie. As far as there being other movies there will be a Wolverine and Magneto spinoff, now the question is will there be a X-Men 4, from the looks of the ending of XM3, there may be a sequel but the studio and director aren't sure.

I liked X Men 3! I thought it was a good movie and it was better than the 1st one, The 2nd one was pretty good also.

Yeah they are saying they might make another one because if you pay close attention at the end Magneto moves the chess piece with his mind.

Also the Producers are thinking of making spin-offs to these characters like a Wolverine movie, maybe a movie about Gambit and etc.

I think that with as many of the main characters they eliminated, there is no way they should even think about making another. But at the same time, it is a terrible way to end a trilogy. I was thoroughly disappointed.

that's why this movie was called The Last Stand. there isn't going to be a sequel. the movies that are being talked about are prequels: Wolverine and Magneto.

i think of they are going to - in case you think unitl the tip of the credit, you will have seen a clip of the "cured" magneto circulate a chess piece - demonstrating that he's not easily "cured" as such... so would be room for the entire revenge element
