Sure it is a doozy to manufacture them, maintain them, and make sure they stay in the right hands and do not cause some kind of disaster.

But having them is sort of a status symbol, as well as being the terror weapon we all know, even if held only for retaliatory purposes. So Iran is dead bent on having them, because they know that they are full of oil and other resources, and that it will take some major threats to keep their unfriendly neighbors (Irak is no longer a menace, but Israel still is, and a GOP held USA has recently shown itself to be one too), and nothing short of nuclear explosions hanging above will give Iran the leverage it is likely to need.

And actually, as experience has shown, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and North Korea are much more reliable aid sources for terrorists than Iran would be, if only because Iran is Shi'ite land, and it would take Shi'ite terrorists to get them to help.

Probably because sometime I would like to visit New York City without it being 10,000 degrees farenheit. Call me old fashioned, but I believe in this old idea long forgotten by liberals called "national security." (that means the safety of our country)
