The best way to explain it is to look at the earth as a tennis ball. Then our sun would be a ball with a radius the size of exactly the entire width of the tennis court. the earth is about 12,769 kilometers across. The sun is approximately 1.4 million kilometers across.

By the way the sun's diamter 109 times bigger than the earth, not 3000 times. But the volume is 118,523 times bigger than the earth's.

The sun is 870,000 Miles wide and 1,367,118 cubic miles in volume.

The average star is around 1,000,000 miles wide.
