What number, as a precent of the entire US population, is currently invested in US economic markets? And how has this percent chagned over time? Sources/links would be appreciated.

Currently 50% of the US population is invested in the stock market whether it be through a 401k or IRA whatever. I am not sure how many are in bonds and things of that nature.

just guessing, I would say it is at least 50%, but most of that is because of people investing through their 501K and retirement funds.
