No. U would still have 'faith' in ur dictionary........
But on a more serious note, 'belief' or for that matter, 'faith' are necessary and natural in our lives. Now dont get me wrong. I dont mean religious belief. But belief and faith in general.
As Rene Descartes pointed out, if u get rid of all ur beliefs and started doubting everything, the only certainty a person will have is (from his/her point of view) that of his/her own existance. To go any furthur than that, u need to believe not only that u r sane but also that the world around u is real. And there is really no way to prove it to urself without doubt.
For both Mathematics (in terms of belief in 'self-evident' first principles) as well as for Science, some amount of belief in crucial.
But the kind of belief that is destructive if is what maybe called blind belief. Which is rigid and unwilling to change or adapt. It isd this kind of belief, together with the tendency to impose it upon (proselytizing) others that causes all the problems.

the word belief is only in english dictionaries, and its not the only word in the english dictionary that has the general meaning. As for war, wouldnt you have to take that word out too? and money? etc... though i think there were probably plenty of wars and stupid beliefs back when we were grunting and throwing poop. Whorf doesnt take into account language that is inherent in humanity. Body language. There's allot of language that is primative, and instinctual. Fighting and 'blind obedience' (or faith) come with being a social species. We're screwed. :(

No. If we could get all religions out of the world, we might finally have peace. Most if not all wars were started because of religious differences. How about live & let live?

My belief is that you are wrong.
Prohibition never stopped people drinking
Most people are at war with their neighbours over their (so-called) RIGHTS not their religion
Jesus taught people to turn the other cheek and not retaliate NOW that would be an amazing to stop war as there would be no other side to fight against
(Scuse me while I thump on the wall to get my neighbour to turn his TV down)

More likely not...but now if we took all the different religions and ether threw them out the window, or combined them into one, or...
If we just dealt with each other with love and compassion, and respected each others views tho we might not understand them, I am firmly convinced that peace might have a chance to grow from it.

If the word belief is deleted, another one will be created in its stead.
