I had my boys at 32 weeks, they were 4 lbs 2 oz and 4 lbs 3 oz, small but totally healthy thanks to the steroid shot to develop their lung. We were in the hospital only three days then we got to go home. My friend had her 2nd at 32 weeks also she weighed 4 lbs 10 oz and was home in two days!
The only really big issue with preemies born 4 - 8 weeks early is their lung and digestional development. While they can't give you anything to help speed up the digestion development they can give you a seres of steroid shots ( two shots 24 hours apart) 24 hours after the last shot your babies lungs will be fully functional! Ask about the shot just to be safe. Good luck, and I hope the baby isn't TOO big!

It's not ideal, 40 weeks is always healthiest, but babies born at 34 weeks have a 99% chance of having no complications from prematurity. The baby may need to spend some time in the NICU though.
At that age they usually breathe fine - but they may inject you with some steroids before delivery to make sure the baby's lungs are developed. Once born, the baby will just need to get their digestive system up and running, and learn how to regulate their body temp.
My daughter was born at 34 weeks and spent 3 1/2 weeks in NICU. She is a perfectly healthy 2-month old now - growing fast!

The baby can live outside the mother's wound at 34-35 weeks, if the doctor thought there was any concerns, he would have told you. I think you should be asking your doctor, the questions that you are asking us, i'm not an medical doctor, he can give you the right answers, more than I can.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, the doctor won't put your unborn and yourself at risk. Perhaps the dr. is doing just that, protecting your child and yourself if he thinks the baby is going tho be to big that can cause problems. The doctor will most likely do what is right. I f you are realy that concerned about it I would suggest that you seek a second opinion from a different dr. best of luck.

Your baby will be fine. My son was born by emergency c-section at 29 weeks due to placental abruption, and even though he had to be in the hospital for 10 weeks, he is now a completely healthy 2 year-old with no delays.

from what ive discovered to evaluate the toddler "finished term" u would desire to be 37 weeks or extra. some toddlers come out completely healthful at 34 weeks yet others would desire to be in an incubator or have numerous lung treatments because of the fact there lungs arent developed each and every of how. all i can declare is solid success and bear in mind the two opportunities, solid and undesirable that way youll be overjoyed to discover solid information and arranged to hearken to undesirable.

for twins 34 weeks is gestation and i'm sure yours will be fine. they will keep you for a while and the baby at least a week or so. some hospital's keep them until normal gestation but others as soon as they are healthy enough to leave. your baby will be fine but 99% sure he/she will have to stay for couple of weeks. nothing to worry about, just that you will more than likely have to leave without it. but thats okay, at least you know it will be healthy!!

Chances are you will be ok at 34 weeks!
I know many women who had children erlier than that who were fine. if the doctor thinks the baby is ready then trust him. many babys devlop faster than others.
the last few weeks of pregnacy has nothing to do with devlopment, but more to do with the sheer growth. they gain weight... yes it helps them be stronger... but i think if your doctor is comfidant than you should be.
