because we usually acheive actually getting into the finals of most torneys like alot of top teams that do the same odviously only one team can win ,we had a good chance this year because weve got alot of talented players 5 of which would get into any squad in the world ,with a wanker of a manager making fuked up decisions all over the place i never exspected to win the world cup but we definately had the right quality of players with the exception of some and with a decent manager we would have had a huge chance of winning it this year,it wasnt just england saying we had a chance it was respected people all over the world looking at our squad and thinking we could do it,but as usual we had another bit of contraversy as well as playing **** cos of sven,we should of been in the final of euro 2004 but we got fuked over there dont care if potugal were the home side sols goal should have stood.

They base it on European club competitions. English clubs regularly do well in the Champions League (Winners, Runners Up and 2 Quarter Finalists in the last 2 years) and UEFA Cup against foreign opposition. What we forget, is that while other international teams select a team, England selects the 22 best players for the international squad, and forgets that those players have to gel together to form a cohesive team at some point.

I am from Belgium and i have the right to say that our Belgian teams don't mean anything. But the English do. Who are you to blame teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Ipswich, Tottenham. All of them won all the big European cups. I think that you are not football-fan, but likes to see the silly snooker.

well England win more games than they lose,but that beside the point ,there are only two competitions to compete in so the chances of winning are very slim,but that doesn't mean England aren't any good,because sometimes the best team doesn't win and in the last few years England have under performed badly

England is a good team. Gerrald, Rooney, A. Cole, and others are world class. Does anyone bash spain? Spain has never won anything, at least England has a world cup under their belt.

Not all of us think we are good. We have some of the best individual players in the world , but the can`t play toghther in a team . Given time , we WILL be the best international team

There always saying that,every time they qualify for a tournament they talk about winning it,the players are as bad as the press,all they are doing is putting them selves under pressure,they are over hyped and overrated.
