Similar to the proprietary brand name "Chap Stick", the word stick is used as an adjective to refer to the shape of the product rather than as the verb "to stick".
Interestingly enough, the product name of "Glue Stick" is both a stick shape and sticks things together. So perhaps a lip cosmetic that was made to stick lips together might be called "Lip Glue Stick".

all I can say is...wink.
Don't you know by know that women will always be able to move their lips no matter what is stuck to them.
But duct tape might do the trick and stop the lip movement. But then the rolling of the eyes starts. LOL

It could be that it comes in a stick, or that the color should stick to your lips, either one sounds good to me.
