It's all to do with your contract.
The law is stacked in your employers favour always.

As lond as the time isn't over 8 hours in a day, and over 40 hours in a week, then it's legal, but you need to really check with your local labor board to be sure. It also should be on the poster that has to be posted in the break room or by the office. all states are not the same so dont go in all big mouthy and get shot down. Do your homework first. Good luck

easy, there are too many people out their who can do your job. I am an ex miner, we had a powerful union and Good overtime. The conservative government destroyed the unions so now employers do what they want. In my last job, i worked in the motor trade (car sales). If you tried to join a union or question your hours or even ask for overtime you might has well have handed your resignation in.

Some jobs don't get time and a half. Check with your state's labor department to see which jobs qualify and which are excluded.

If you're not working more hours, just the same number of hours but over different days, you're not actually working over and above your standard hours. You're not actually doing any overtime.

Nothing requires overtime except more than 40 hrs. per week...
Employer can schedule work however best suits his business...
You don't like it...
Quit..
Find a better employer...

if you take a day off during the week, your weekend day could be paid at reg.. also if you have less than 40 hrs in a week..
