Generally speaking, I'm against it.
I think that if there's a systemic problem here, it has nothing to do with firearms or even violent television and video games, it's a basic disconnect between individuals and society.
Kids today are being raised more often by two income families than they were fifty years ago. This creates a void of familial context for them, without which there's not much to base a connection to community on. At the same time, you have them watching more television (violent or otherwise) and playing more video games (violent or otherwise) and those that do keep up with current events are only seeing stories about how screwed up everything is.
They aren't connected to the world, and don't seem to be offered many reasons to want to be.
Now, there are organizations that can offer that connection, but they aren't "hip" anymore. Boy Scouts, Key Club, church/synagogue, Explorers, etc. Now, violent gangs, those are "hip", and they sort of fill that community urge in people, but it sorta comes out a little different....
Guns don't cause these rampages. These rampages are the product of a rage against a society that the individual never quite connected to. This probably explains why you always hear someone say "You know, I always thought he was a little odd."

I don't know what to think...a bunch of nuts trying to get tic-tac-toe, 5 white guys in a row to shoot up schools.
Schools these days are gonna have to get tighter secuirty. Who knows, bombs could be next! :(
They should lock ALL entrances to the school, and have a school police guard the door to let in visitors. A metal dector woudldn't hurt, along with a guard dog or two. That's what taxes are for :)

I think companies need to do psychiatric evaluations on all new employees. There are a lot of depressed and mentally disturbed people out there. There is no way to know who is going to go off and where. Start by evaluating white males and all men. I happen to be white male and it seems we are the ones doing these stupid acts. I don't understand any of it.

I seriously think that schools should have better security!
no one is safe anymore no matter where we are anything could happen. I think it's time to allow god in our schools, prayer is very important. I have school children too and believe that it is only Jesus that can protect them when i can't.

We should execute the families of the shooters. Sure they may not be responisible for the horrible act, but if you want to prevent this behavior in the future many gunmen will think twice if they know their families are going to be executed too.
