I would have to say Hagrid. Although he can be a little danger-prone, he has helped Harry out of some very tight corners. Hagrid was also Harry's first real friend. He has some sort of an importent role in all the Harry Potter books.

Snape for sure, not just in the books but also in the films, Alan Rickman is Fricken' awesome.
Watch the scene in POA where he catches Harry wondering in the halls at night and when he follows Harry with his wand when he walks past. Amazing!

Strange as it sounds, I like poor Neville. He's really been progressing, and I have a theory about him. He and Harry were BOTH born on July 31, and the prophecy didn't mention Harry specifically--they just assumed it meant Harry after he was attacked by Voldemort, and Neville didn't show much promise. I think the prophecy really meant Neville. He has even more reason to hate him than Harry--he has to see what he did to his parents all the time, and he got really good in their "DA" meetings. I think he's the one who will destroy Voldemort, and be destroyed by him.

Fred and George. They help keep the book alive! They are a funny part in the book, I always liked them.
Lupin, Sirius, and Snape are ALL awesome in the book AND the movies. Lupin is my favorite of the 3. I hope he does not die in the last book!

Snape because he has to be the most complex and fascinating character of the series. He is brooding, sullen and malicious on the surface but there is so much we don't know about him, his thoughts and his past.
