Started new job and already I don't click with the Russian receptionist downstairs, who has no personality, and gets pissed for having to get the door for me. (I have no badge to get thru the door yet, lol)

Because a job is just a job. Were you planning to stay there forever? Companies these days don't let an employee stay forever. Tha'ts why the other employees can treat you like dirt.

Great question, maybe ask around if anyone else had any problems with her when they started and how she acts towards them today. Then you know how long to expect the cold war treatment. It's not our fault they lost. Tell her to lighten up, she could be in Siberia. Give some people a little power and they go all door nazi for no reason.

I think you will come across such people in every job. It would show your strength if you can make her smile and greet you when you enter. So turn on your nicest personality and make her feel comfortable. There isnt any human who cant smile, you just need to warm up the hearts.

there will always be people you don't get along with because we are all different. with different style, opinions and mannerisms people will always rub each other the wrong way. you can't help it. just think the next time you see her that it is sad she has nothing better to do but to be upset with you for something so stupid.
