Ok, first off, I'm a scot, but I'm impartial.
Northern Hemi
Country - England (in the modern era, they are streets ahead. Maybe not the best rugby, but no other team can win a test match like them)
Club - Toulouse (nearly Bath/Leicester) (consistant and trailblazers of the professional era, guaranteed class every year)
Southern Hemi
Country - New Zealand (Simply the best, right now, they have 3 teams that could win the world cup, its been this way for a while, but they are just a class above)
Province - Canterbury Crusaders (Super 12/14 champions for what seems like forever)
Club - Canterbury (NPC champs over and over again)
(There's a trend there)
Overall
NZ, because they live and breathe the game, just like me. Its a way of life in NZ and they do not compete with other sports like in UK, Australia and it shows. They are simply the best.....and I'm jealous !!! ha ha

Ok well I'll be biased for a sec and say my team, the Wallabies!!!
Ok the best team in the world at present is New Zealand who have come out on top and showed tremendous skill since the start of the Tri Nations this year. They have beat World Cup favourites, Australia and also have beat quite skilled South Africa. Although people believe they will win the World Cup next year, New Zealand always seem to lose their nerves at Cups and therefore blow it. My guess at next years World no.1 will either be France or Australia and maybe the prospect that South Africa could do it. But at the moment New Zealand is world best according to the International Rugby Union Board

Most people would say the All Blacks are the best rugby team in the world by I wish to differ. I would say the Crusaders are the best rugby team in the world.
Just look at there track record in super rugby wins {6} runner up {2}
I bet the Crusaders will beat most of the International teams, with out even building up a sweat.

New Zealand by a long way. They are top of the world rankings, favourites for the world cup. Won the grand slam against the british nations whilst using two entirely different 1st fifteens. Just won the Tri nations again went 13 games unbeaten until they were beaten by South Africa.
Club rugby Munster? Just won the Heinekien Cup. Or possibly the Crusaders just won the Super 14!!

No one can beat the bulle (bulls) at loftus even the crusaders were thrashed last year at the fortress. The leicster cubs i mean tigers would struggle to win a single game in the super 14. they are a complete joke along with all english rugby.

I would say Canterbury Crusaders if they were allowed to play their full team (with their All Blacks). They gel good as a team. If they were to play the ABs I reckon that they would give them a good run for their money. Not forgetting that they have won the most of the super 12s and the last Super 14 and boast a high number of All Blacks anyway (past and present

Well in union, England has the best Rugby sqaud, but that's only because you've got some talent from the league side, (albeit heathen Wigan Warriors players) like Andy Farrel and Jason Robinson, still, the traffic goes either way, union players have before turned coats and joined the leauge ranks, such as Martin Offiah, and the Welshman who commentates for Grandstand on the League side of the game.

i would love to say england but i dont think you need figures to see i would be lying. being half welsh i would like to say Wales as they are slowly getting all their players back from injury that were playing in that amazing grand slam so i deffently think they will be on form for the world cup. but unfortunalty it pains me to say New Zealand is deffently the best rugby team in the world. (at the moment)

my heart will always say wales cmon boys but ? my head has to say new zealand and folks the facts speak for themselves the one side that everyone wants to beat but rarely does is the kiwis but who knows worl cup 2007 if our boys can gel together and stay fit and free from injury then wales will have the best chance for a very long time to shine on the worldstage put a few bob on us to reach the semi,s at least or maybe a double edged bet semi,s and final you have to have belief and faith which i have i honestly think that the team that beats wales will win it
