I do not have a land line, but do have wireless in my house. I have heard that some TiVo's will work with WiFi, but the guys at the electronics store couldn't tell me.

If you know of a TiVo or other DVR that will work over WiFi, please provide the model number so I know what to look for.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To be more clear, I have cable going to to TV and I have wireless internet. I know most TiVo's need to be connected to a phone line to update program data. I want to know if I can get a TiVo or DVR that will receive that program data over my wireless network.

Wireless works with Series 2 Tivo's. You'll need a TiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter. We no longer have a home phone, so programming info is sent through the Wireless Adapter. This is how we set ours up ====> www. tivo.com

TiVo Wireless G USB Network Adapter. Easily connect your TiVo® Series2™ DVR to your 802.11g or 802.11b wireless home network. Enjoy TiVoToGo™ and Multi-Room Viewing transfers, Music and Photos, Online Scheduling, and more. Eliminates the need for a phone line, if used with a broadband connection. Optimized wireless performance with your TiVo® Series2™ DVR. Real brushed metal base; flip-up antenna with TiVo badge. For use with a TiVo Series2 DVR only. Not for use with a TiVo® Series1™ DVR (with no USB ports) or DIRECTV DVR with TiVo®. Not intended to be plugged into a PC or Mac.

I don't believe so. If it is even possible, it would require some major hacking of the software onboard.

The network TiVo, also called TiVo Media, is for connecting more than one TiVo in the house to allow you to watch shows on one TiVo on another TiVo.

If you have a series II it will. Requires a special usb network adapter. Go to tivo.com and look it up. they have the info you are looking for.
