Could you help a french tourist ?

Hi, I'm planning to come to London 3 days in november. What do you think I should absolutely visit ?

It depends what you appreciate but i'd recommend the London Eye (weather permitting it's a great birds eye view of London), Tate modern (modern art),Tower Bridge, see a show in the west end (book ahead), Madame Tussauds(maybe), The Planetarium, Covent Garden, & take in the architecture and history.
As a Brit I STILL need to take a river bus , see Greenwich observatory, Cutty Sark etc.
I'd get a good book guide in advance. Don't try to pack in too much in 3 days as you'll never see it all.

Take a walk along the South Bank of the Thames from Tower Bridge to Westminster.

It takes in loads of sites and it's free!

You only have to pay if you decide to go into any of the attractions, such as the London Eye, London Aquarium, Oxo Tower, Tate Modern Art Gallery, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre etc.

It's a really lovely walk. If you just look at the attractions from the outside I'll take you about half a day.

As an English person, the French have always been lovely to me when I've been a tourist in France. I hope the English will be just as kind and open to you whilst you're here x

I am a South African living in London(I have been living here for 4 years). Even though I feel "part of the scenery" I am in some ways still a tourist!

The best thing that I can suggest is to take a London Hop On Hop Off Tour bus. That way you can see all the sites first, and then decide after wards where you want to spend your time. Different things appeal to different people!! (I took my mother on it when she came visiting, and even after living in London for two years, it was really amazing!!)

Buckingham palace ,Trafalgar square as there are also a few art gallery's around it which are free. the London eye,madam Tussuad's the London dungeons,covent garden is a good place has a market there and street shows,the Thames is a really nice walk and you can go on h.m.s Belfast and have a look around, Big Ben If you go down to the mall you will see the fantastic changing of the Gard's but make sure you get there at about 10 30 am as it starts at 11 30 am but gets a bit busy

if you want a londoners opinion:

brick lane on a sunday morning, the market and surround area is georgeous: liverpool st. and its five mins walk to spitalfields! yeah yeah

when u arrive, goto any newsagents and buy Time Out, its really easy to find out all the happenings in town at that time, just choose what you want!


visit the ICA: its on the mall, so u could do some touristy stuff around there, like trafalger sq... which i have honestly never walked through.. ive lived here all my life..

depends what your into, if you want more contemporary arts and architecture sides of things, message me or something and il give some suggestions..

sketch (expensive but so good)
if you want a cheap drinking hole, which is also beautiful, goto chancery lane and walk down, there is a weatherspoons (which normally have **** pubs) but this one is BEAUTIFUL, stone tables, everything, and its really cheap, so go there before heading into town, its dead at weekend because its the city.

try vinopolis on the south bank, just a bit in, £20 gets u a massive wine history, making and tasting, then onto absinthe, whisky, beer and gin tasting... well worth it as the museum is fantastic! lots of great resuturaunts and dirnking areas around there, and the feeling of the roads is what maybe some would call real london: lots of cobbles and high old buildings, and the thames a stone throw aways.

London Eye, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, St James Park, Thames Boat trip, Greenwich (Cutty Sark, Maritime Museum and the Observatory to stand on the meridian line)......that's my suggestion!!

The tower of london is great, and obviously any of the rest of the major tourist spots - big ben, buckingham palace etc - especially if you're only there for three days. You wont have enough time to really get into it.

The Royal albert Hall....thats England look at the web site it is helpful..in November the Service of Rememberance is held their.
The National gallery in Trafalgar Sqare is a must.
You may also go to either West Minster Abbey...but St pauls Cathedral might suit better.I hope you have a great time in London.......and we welcome you.
