rescanned lots. Every few weeks since it started on freeview

Even though it's digital each channel is broadcast from different transmitters, and reception depends on signal strength. This happened to me - found by moving my antenna a few feet I got more channels - but you have to perform new search to get them. Also is your antenna "digital compatible" - you can boost reception by putting it through an electric booster - about £10 from Argos.

Not a very helpful response, but I have the same problem. The signal may be just too weak, so short of a new arial (which may not work) you may be stuck.
Check if other people near you can receive the Film4 signal on freeview.

It would help if you mentioned the model and firmware revision of your box, and what transmitter you are on. There are known bugs in some (for example, Sagem) boxes that limit the EPG size, that are fixed by over-the-air software updates. If it's a relatively new box, and has been sat in a warehouse for a while, it might not have got the fixes on it.
Check out the Digital Spy forums to see if anyone else with your box/transmitter is having issues.

Get your box to do a rescan/retune of all the channels and it should appear.If you've done this and still no joy, then i would expect you not to get some other channels too (see sources).

Its on my box! Have you gone right through the channels to check its not there somewhere? At first, my film4 was on the More4 channel. Try that one.

I think not all of the channels are available in some area's ?.

Mine has disappeared as well . i did have it when it first came on as free view but then it went off and i have also scanned but it is not there any more !
