The info center console doesn't come on. You know, that digital info thing that tells you the miles to service? It doesn't come on anymore. Also, my stereo won't work. Funny thing is, since those things are off, I cannot control the heat/AC so my heat shuts on and off by itself and I can't control it.

I thought it was a fuse, but I checked the fuse box and all of them are good. I am afraid to take it to a mechanic since I don't know exactly what's wrong, they might try to get over on me.

If any of you know exactly what's wrong or at least have an idea, please let me know so I can at least go to an auto shop and pretend I know what I'm talking about!! Thanks you guys!!

Are you aware that there are TWO fuse boxes on that Jeep? Check 'em all.

Good Luck

It is possible that you have a fuseable link on this car, and it could be bad. The intermittent coming on and going off of heater may be power running "backwards" from some other accessory through the heater, to get back to "ground potential"! Or possibly you have some loose wires under the dash in area of heater control that are hitting together to make unusual problems for you.

Fuseable links look about the same as regular wires, - they are designed to be a little smaller than the rest of vehicle wiring, -when you get a short, or excessive current draw, - they "burn out"(in essence they are more-or-less "fuses" also!) Usually you will find several of them sort of "standing out" loose from the "bound over" wiring loom. And usually not too far from the battery. (however some jokers hide them so that you have to spend a lot of time looking fo them!)

If you want to really be in the know, go to an "Auto Zone" type auto parts suppply store and buy a "Haynes auto repair manual", - it will tell you where to look for fuseable links, and where the "hidden fuses" will be (if there are any!) If you study a little and look around you may actually find the problem yourself, as they are pretty good in explaning how things work!
