You should date at least one year. Not 364 days or earlier. On day 365, you can get engaged. It's Federal Law....

My husband and I were together for a VERY short period of time before we got married. Our engagement/dating period was exactly 6 weeks (to the day). Yes, you others will say I am crazy, that I should have waited, but when you know, you just know. We have been very happily married for almost 12 years. There is no set limit on engagement or dating period. Only you can say what is right for you. Good luck!

Time frame is "when it feels right to both people". There's no specific answer in days, months, or years. My parents started dating in April, got engaged in June, and got married in July; still married 33 years later with 2 grown kids. It all depends on the people involved.

I met my wife in the fall and got engaged at Christmas and got married in May. That would be some where around 5 to 6 months before we got married. We have been married 43 years now.

Why the rush, you should date until you feel it is right and the 2 of you are mature enough to commit to a long term relationship.I was engaged 2 years before we got married and we dated 2 years before we got engaged.I wanted to finish my education and be ready to commit time and finances to make this marriage work. The time period is not as important as the outcome.

You can not put a time limit on this. The right time is more like how compatible you are. How many things you have in common. Being able to listen to each other. No being judgmental. Allowing each other space. Compromising and good communication with each other. Most important never wanting to hurt the one you love. Life is short so choose wisely.

I would say there is no set time on how long it should be. If you feel it's right go for it I was married after 2 months and am still happily today.

i dont think you can put a time limit on this sort of thing you need to feel comfortable and complete when choosing to marry someone not because you have been dating x amount of time... your heart and head will tell you when your ready
