There have been periods in my life that the doctor put me on medicine that I could not afford and told him this. One of the office girls filled out papers for me--from certain drug companies--and I got the medicine from the drug company for free. I had to show proof of income--but it was worth it. Good luck.

first off ask the doctor if the office has samples, then ask insurance what alternate will they pay for and then you end up paying only the copay. If you have a high deductable then you are in a tough spot, if you don't have insurance noew is a good time to get one, good luck
