In my experience not so long ago,I was waking up periodically with headaches.I went to the doctor and discovered that I had high blood pressure.Since I've been on meds for it,I don't wake up with headaches anymore. But it could also be a number of things in your case.Your best bet is to see your doctor.Good Luck and I truly hope you find out what the cause is.Take care friend and have a nice day.

It could be one of many things. Did the headaches start after getting new bedding/pillows or a new laundry detergent? A very common reason for headaches is dehydration. Are you getting enough water during the day? I find on the rare occasion I get a headache I can trace it to this. I just drink some H2O and put myfeet up for 15 mins and it nearly always goes away.
One odd thing that happened recently: I started to get headaches and my eyes were burning. I realized it was my new bike I was keeping in my apartment. The rubber tire fumes about blew me out of the place.
If you are running the A/C or furnace it could be a bad filter or mold in the ductwork. I had to say it but nearly every house has some mold and it can be found in ductwork.

A common cause of headaches can be as simple as not drinking enough water. Of course, alcohol might make you wake up with a headache...?
PS doctors are free in the UK and much of Western Europe, it is only USA that is living in the dark ages ;)

You could have slept on your head wrong, like the corner of your pillow in your temple and that can make you wake up with a mother of a headache! LOL

Maybe the fumes from your pillow are affecting you - try sleeping in a different place, or with a different pillow.
Could also be your eating habits, check how you are eating and drinking before bedtime.
If it lasts a long time, go to a Doctor, I heard West Nile Virus symptoms can last up to a year!

To much sleep can cause headache. Do you have any gas appliances turn on while sleeping, if so get, a carbon monoxide detector to check if any exist on your gas appliances.
To much sleep exceeds 7hrs. of sleep.
Nothing helps and headache still occurs, Refer to a Doctor.
