Normally I am optimistic. But if I watch the news,
read the newspapers, I think about this world as a gigantic
madhouse... And sometimes I think
there will be a Great War. Am I right ?!?!
Hope You know it better....

Yeah, i get afraid. Because something big is coming our way. We can barely percieve it, but we know it is coming. It might be truly the war to end all wars, it could be a natural disaster of biblical proportions. Possibly alien invasion/discovery. Just keep your eyes on the horizon and your gun strapped to your hip. It might just be zombies.

I think everyone is afraid of the "unknown." We feel helpless, and hopeless because we don't know how to cope with an uncertain tomorrow. Worrying, however, is unproductive. I give it to the Lord, and try to make peace and spread love within my circle of friends and family. Being positive is contagious, but I often find myself looking where the exits are at my workplace, how I would get water, and I do stock some canned food. Read some books on survival and you feel like you have some control over the situation. It makes you less scared if you have some "plans" worked out in your mind. Ideas: stock candles, lighters, matches, kerosene lamps or similar, heavy clothing, water, canned food, dried beef, blankets, first aid supplies, knives, I have some guns for hunting/protection, extra firewood for the fireplace, gear suited to the terrain around me, a broadband radio, extra gas in my garage, some ready cash, and supplies for my dogs. It's the old boy scout mentality, but it makes me feel safe and ready.

In a world like the one we live in, I'd be surprised if anyone says he is not worried. Even the wealthiest man in the world worries about the future

If I keep one eye focused in the past and the other one focused on the future, I end up cross-eyed in the present.
