There are different areas of the brain where information is stored. One location handles short term memory, another long term, another spot stores images, another deals with language, another handles motor skills.
Amnesia is every bit as complex as the mind itself & damage can vary quite a bit. Some heals & some doesn't, some memories will come back & some won't.

Amnesia is usually caused by stress that is so bad,that the individual who is suffering from it can't compartmentalize like you and me.Amnesia often wipes out the memories that are causing the stress.Family, jobs,boyfriend.Yet some people that suffer from Amnesia can remember their favorite food or their name.Almost every person that has recovered from Amnesia has said they were experiencing an abnormal amount of stress before it happened.

These people remember a variety of different things and no two people remember the same thing. Some do not remember the very things you mentioned. It depends on their circumstances.

BECAUSE THE AMNESIA EATS AT THEIR BRAIN TILL THEY HAVE NO MEMORY OF ANYTHING IT IS SO SAD. THEY HAVE VIVID MEMORIES OF THER PAST

maybe different parts of the brain are effected... memory is stored in different places of the brain, i think...
