Yes, I've seen both and it's truly disgusting.

While I was in high school a girl got pregnant and as for as the school staff went, for the most part no one cared. A lot of the students supported her and thought it was great.
When I, more recently, was a in high school as a teacher a student got pregnant and they forced her to quit the cheerleading squad as a punishment, but let her stay on as class president. Overall the staff was quite accommodating.
By and large the student body was supportive. The student was bright and in AP classes and I think her more competitive classmates got mad that she stealing the spotlight from traditional academic successes just by being a mom (which they were trying avoid). They were generally nice and understanding, but a little jealous (the same way you can be jealous of someone who works 16 hours a day and makes a lot of money, but whose life you would hate). They seemed to mad when I would give additional time to do her work (even when she was in labor) since they felt cheated about trying to be Top 10 or whatever.

It's my first year in high school this year (grade 9), and I've seen maybe 4 out of about 2000 something kids. People don't treat them any different then anyone else, and I don't think the teachers care much. Usually there is like some gossip for like a couple days like "oh so and so got pregnant" and blah blah blah. I dunno why but there usually the popular girls, and all there friends are always with them. I go to a Catholic High School, and I've heard rumors that girls can get kicked out for that, but they don't do that at the Catholic High school I go to.
There was one girl kicked out this year, but it's because she wouldn't wear an outfit that went with school uniform guidelines. Obviously she was an exception, and she didn't have to wear the kilt, but they wanted her to wear the school shirt but extra large and she wouldnt because she said it didnt look nice and was uncomfortable, so she was told to leave the school for not following uniform rules. They didn't expell her though, just asked to leave . . . seperate schools can actually do that. That's what the gossip was anyways.
Well yeah, that's my view on it lol.

I have seen several. One of the highschool's in the city where I live, Roosevel high in Fresno California, even has an area for the girs to leave their children in day care while they attend classes. I personally see nothing wrong with it. it ahs become common enough that I am surprised taht anyone even notices. I can't say that the cholls caters to the girls, in fact thy have to maintain a specific GPA inorder to qualify to ahve the priveledge of the day care, those that don't wind up either having to find someone to watch the child while they are in school, donig independant study, or dro[pping out completely. When I was in highschool if my fiancee at the time had been capable of having children we would have had one or two by graduation.

Are you kidding? The High school here is the #2 worst for teenage pregnancy's in Texas. So many young girls are having babies like its no big deal, a 13 year old got pregnant by a 19 year old (or 18, maybe 17)

Oh man, that catering to young pregnant woman has changed over the years. It is to common now to see a pregnant girl. it seems like it is every 10 out of 25 theses days. I think girls are having sex these days for all the wrong reasons. ( they are looking for love)

When I went to school...we actually had a "young parents" program, where the girls with babies and the really pregnant ones, could be in a class together, with on site day care for the babies.
One girl I knew personally, was pregnant and had the baby in Oct. and I never knew she was pregnant. When she was gone for a few days, I was like, "where'd Michelle go?" and my friends said, "she had a baby" and I was in shock...because I had no clue.
It's been happening for years and years and in the olden days (40's, 50's, 60's) girls were "shipped off to boarding school" before they showed and returned after they had the baby and gave it up.
Also, my best friends sister had TWINS at 16...we were often stuck watching the babies as she wanted to go out a lot.
I graduated in 1988 and it's just part of life. Thank god it wasn't me.

I've probably seen it once or twice. It was basically gosip for a very short period of time. I only heard about these girls maybe once through gossip. I felt sorry for them to have to go through raising a kid without a husband to help them. Everyone else seemed to feel the same way. And nobody seemed to cater to them. After all, it was their own fault that they got pregnant to begin with.

I worked at a group home with teen mothers so I've seen tons of them. The youngest was 11 years old. It's sad but I didn't really react to it. I never noticed anyone else with negative reactions though I know they felt them. The schools they went to had good chidl care programs for the girls babies.
