I have looked it up on the internet... and it gives it both ways. I always tyed it U.C. because I thought it was separating two different words, but now that I need it to be more professional, thought I'd ask. cause i love yahoo answers. :)

If your are writing formally, abbreviations should include the periods, so U.C. would be appropriate

I think UC is implied and you can make it explicit by separating it to be U.C.
However it really doesn't make a difference and i luv yahoo qs including yours.

I would say that U.C. is actually the more proper spelling but most would use UC.

It's UC, as in UCLA and UCBerkeley.
