At first it only had one line (negative) then a few hours later my Husband looked at it and said there was a second line (positive)

Read the instructions and see what it says. I would suggest to try another test with a different vendor.

They are not accurate after 10-20 minutes, it says how long in the instructions. However, I took a test while my husband was at work it was positive, when he came home several hours later it was the same, but that could have been because it was a positive test. If you still think that you might be pregnant, wait a couple of days and test again.

It's probably an evaporation line, if it's colorless and kind of appears as a ghost line then no you can't trust it. To be honest, I wouldnt' trust it anyway, use your first morning pee and test again in two days, your hCG levels should double every 48 to 72 hours. Good luck to you!

The pee travels up the stick. It is absorbent and thus activates all the lines if left for a long amount of time. So get a new test, read it ACCORDING to the directions and then go to the doctor if you still aren't sure.

The test should be read immediately. The results are invalid after about 15-30 minutes.

You should get another test. You shouldnt rely on that to be positive... Most tests state on the instructions that you shouldnt rely on those results after a certain amount of time.

no, you should not trust old results, it happened to me once, freaked me out and then i read packaging more carefully. a true positive shows up within a few minutes. after a couple hours it will show a false positive. i dont know why, thats just what happens when it sits.

It is negative. Over time the molecules from the positive control can migrate to the other test.

If you leave a pregnancy alone for 2 hours, nothing happens. You're still pregnant.

no. if you read the instructions it gives you a period of time that the test is accurate and its definitely not for 2 hrs. take another one. most come with 2 anyway.
