i thought that this show sounded so interesting!!!! I decided to start watching it at the 2nd episode. My 10 year old was with me, and I'm glad I told her to go to bed 10 minutes through the show!!
There was so much blood, gore, dead bodies.... There was no warning or anything before they played it.
It is interesting, but, these images stay in my mind for a long time, and I dont need that....
what are your thoughts?

i watch CSI too, and the gore in that is okay... they are detectives, you end up knowing the answer at the end. heros?? you see chilren and their parents being slaughtered and you dont know why and probably wont know why for a long time!

My husband and I were really excited to see this show. We missed the first one and wanted to watch the second. We have 4 yr. old and didn't think it would be as bad as it was, we had to change it pretty darn fast!!!
I think it sucks!

Yeah, I'm a sci fi fan and from the commercials got the impression it was kind of and X Men thing. Mutants discovering new powers/skills and using them and testing them. In that respect it was ok. I just saw the first episode.
As far as the gore/blood/bodies goes: Was there a rating in the upper corner of the screen when the show started. Every show is supposed to have it. I don't pay much attention to it because I no longer have kids in the house.
When my daughter was young I explained to her early that TV and movies were just pretend and the actors might sometimes pretend to die in a show but the actor is really ok. She saw Jurassic Park when she was 7 and loved it with no nightmares.
Weather or not you allow your children to watch shows you don't feel are age appropriate, I think it is a good idea to explain the 'pretend' thing. Kids know a lot but we cant assume then understand everything. Even if they say, "gee, Mom, I know" it still shows you care and you love them.
That's what counts.

My only real problem with the show, since I watch CSI so the gore didn't bother me, was the plot. I don't know what it is I can't even start to follow it and I'm usually the person everyone calls to help them figure out what was going on. Everyone was calling and I only had one response "I don't have a clue."

well......... i thought, like you, that i would give it a shot, and i watched the first episode - very, very unbelievable. i mean, no person can walk thru fire and not be burned, no person can fall off a 10 story building and not be hurt, and the bodies, they were in the first one too... i thought it was just way too out there!! i wasn't impressed at all. now, my husband, he loves it - he was an x-files fan and loves the sci-fi stuff, but, i'm just not into it at all! i don't think the name is appropriate either, who wants as their "hero" a cheerleader who can break her neck so bad that her head looks like the chick from the exorcist, then stand up and say "i'm ok" - totally whacked!!

Well, since I hate watching that TV Show (but yet I still watch it), it really stays in my head for the rest of the night. After that, it fades out.

I was surprised at it myself. My little boy had asked to watch it after seeing the commercials. I set the DVR to record it and watched it to see if it was OK. Needless to say, he won't be watching it. It wasn't that it was SO much, it was just that it showed that on NBC......unexpected.
