Dropping Knowledge claims to be "a non-profit initiative that encourages open dialogue", yet many of their questions have a strong liberal slant. How is that open dialogue?

Example: Why is it socially acceptable to hoard wealth while so many go without basic needs?

So people don't work hard and earn money, they "hoard wealth."

Even inherited money was earned by an ancestor. I don't care if someone has billions. Someone in their family EARNED it. Why should it be taken away and given to others - even if they are disgusting, spoiled people? Before you decide to steal from them, remember that YOU are rich to someone else.

I can't believe how wrong people have this. Redistribution of wealth is not the answer to anything. People must earn what they get. Look at the projects where the welfare slackers live. They destroy everything there and then demand that we taxpayers buy them new ones again.

If that little punk had to work for a few months at a real job to earn enough to pay for the property he destroyed, do you think he'd trash it so quickly? Unending handouts DO NOT WORK - never have, never will.

Back to the original question - something scares me. They are non-profit. That means that we taxpayers cover their taxes for them. Why are so many left-wing non-profits allowed to exist? If you have a political slant, you are not allowed to be non-profit, yet liberal group after liberal group are granted tax freedom.

Disgusting!

most who ask important social questions are liberal. it's by definition.
feed the war starve the poor is republican ideology.

people work hard and hoard money.these days.
one of the things made our country great was redistribution of the wealth and a safety net (through taxes nonprofits and volunteerism.) not excessive tax like caused the Boston tea party. very few give back anymore. all need a million dollar home and lots of daily perks. me me me...as the world falls and fails people die around our feet.
the world -help me out here international yahooers-, used to love us now we are seen as greedy selfish backstabbing capitalists.among many in the world.including the poor homeless especially disabled here. look at how new Orleans still wont help -cant house the poor workers.
what important questions do the wealthy and well to do need answered? how to keep the homeless from hiding from the cold and rain on their unused yachts?
who would fund a non profit to help the wealthy solve whether its best to shop at Saks or nieman Marcus
we all take and our world and mother nature needs us to give back to make a better place?
what have you done for her lately?

take economics at college level and you'll understand better redistribution safety nets goodwill marketplace etc. very wealthy (USA)don't contribute much in home country economy most invest and savings to other countries. etc.. bad for economy.

and do you mean knowledgeplex?

i never saw the question, but maybe they're talking about the extremely wealthy. people with billion dollar estates and diamond dog collars. or those sweet 16 families where the girl is screaming that she wanted a lexus and she got a hummer.

the average hard worker saving money to send kids to college or buy a new car doesn't hoard so much as save.

paris hilton makes something like 200,000 dollars for spending 20 minutes at a club and flaunts her wealth and disdainfully makes fun of "regular" people without thinking there are some people who can't buy their kids lunch for school.

They must work for yahoo or something. Most of the question they ask show up on yahoo featured questions. They never get points taken off either for asking a question. I find it unfair for them to get this kind of publicity. To try to push their ideas on others.

Liberal is not a dirty word, not at all - neither is Conservative a bad word - seeking open dialogue, information, knowledge, and truth only helps all of us better understand each other - maybe listening and reading to understand rather than to refute or reply with slander would really improve our ability to communicate - Rather than criticize the paranoid person, I feel we should look for the cause of that fear - Knowledge is light a flashlight that penetrates the unknown and reveals there really is nothing to fear - respect yes, proceed with caution of course, but fear is a mask that ignorance hides behind. So rather than criticize someone for caring, thinking being labeled a Liberal is an insult, or criticize someone for being fiscally responsible, labeling them a Conservative also thinking that is an insult - maybe it's time to listen to understand - ignorance is curable, all it takes is a little exposure to knowledge. the old adage about blame - one finger may be point to another, but 3 are pointing back at self - or the one about we have 2 ears and 1 mouth, so maybe we should listen twice as much as we talk - both are really good advice - so think before you criticize, think about those 3 fingers and the 2 ears.

Yeah. It's odd. Liberals tend to be guilt ridden, whereas conservatives are just greedy. I don't care for either.

Just because someone wants an open dialogue doesn't mean they want to hear what you have to say. Most of the time when people say they want to talk, what they really want is a sympathetic ear.
