I have got to say that I think that Breakfast Club was the best Brat Pack movie of the 80's. It absolutely captured the pain and angst that every teenager went through. No matter who you were in high school you could relate to someone in that movie. The writers were BRILLIANT, the actors (every one of whom went on to a major career by the way) were EXCEPTIONAL!

That said, I have to admit that Ferris Bueler's Day Off has more staying power. Every generation seems to come up with it's own version of the teenage angst movie, but Ferris Lives On. My older children (now 20 & 19) watched it throughout their childhood and teenage years and it is currently a serious favorite of my youngest (who is 12).

So when you ask 'greatest' which criteria shall we use? I say they both qualify, in different categories.

Best true Brat Pack movie was The Breakfast Club, but If I'm allowed to just choose a John Hughes film in general it's got to be Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Def the Breakfast Club, with The Lost Boys a close second.

A little known film called Catholic Boys, that had Andrew McCarthy in it and he was also a member of the Brat pack, that film is cleverer and has more staying power than any John Hughes' film.
However the lost boys was also Awsome.
