In addition to Jesus words at Luke 23:34, it was also stated at Acts chapter 7 verse 60, the person who spoke those words was Stephen, as he was stoned at the direction of Saul a persecutor of Christians, who later converted, and became the Apostle Paul. He truly did not know what he was doing when he stoned Stephen.

Luke 23:34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
footnote in my Bible says that some early manuscripts do not have this sentence.
