it would be best, if you HAVE to dye your hair to use a wash-out (ie non-permanent) dye.

The dye will not be harmful toward the baby BUT you should wait until after your first trimester. If you do decide to color you hair, use in a well ventilated place. Try Bigen hair color. That's what I used when I was pregnant and it doesn't have a strong smell and all those chemicals contained in them.

Good question. I dyed my hair all through my pregnancy. My baby is fine. I called the hair dye people there is nothing wrong and it won't hurt the baby at all. As long as it doesn't say anything on the box your in good shape. So go dye away! Congrats!

Your hormones are all whacked and dyeing your hair will either not take or make your hair a mess. They say not to dye hair when you are pregnant but you can but you might also want to wait till you are out of your first trimester. I have done hair on women who are pregnant and it never came out the way the imagined it and I have warned them all before doing this so they new what to expect in the end.

All modern hairdye (the ones you'll find at your local store) are perfectly safe! Don't let others tell you they are not. Back in the day they used to use harmful chemicals, but they don't know. I've always dyed my hair during pregnancy, and my doctor even said it was okay. Even the pregnancy books say it's okay.

I was always told you couldn't, but I asked my hair dresser and she said you could, it's just not good to breath the fumes in, but it's kind of a myth, it won't actually hurt your baby.

I was told not too dye your hair when you're pregnant. It's safer for the baby if you don't!

no, just dont do it yourself have someone else do it...later on in pregnancy you prolly wont be able to cuz the hormones in your body sometimes react funny to the dye and your color can come out brassy or funny looking..I got my hair dyed when I was 12 weeks..and everything is fine...I also checked with my doctor before hand...

That shouldn't be a problem because the fume is just temporary. Although you should consult a doctor.

You need to read the directions. If the warnings say not to use when you are pregnant, then don't. Please be aware that there are vegetable dyes that are not harmful.
