Everyone knows, this is old news already (not trying to sound like a dick, but this exact question has been asked like 4 times at least already)
Kurt Angle was having issues with chronic pain in his neck/back/arm and was heavily addicted to pain killers. WWE literally forced him out of the company by allowing him out of his contract. It was probably more a PR move than anything, as they didn't want to have to deal with another "Eddie Guerrero".
Angle's initial plans seemed to have been to stay out of hte industry for awhile and heal himself up and patch things up with his wife. Not long after, rumors began swirling about Angle being interested in MMA, which wasn't necessarily bad for him as there is no touring schedule and he could train while he healed, while getting the big pay day for only one fight.
WWE countered these rumors, hoping to quell competitor interest, by overexxagerating just how bad Angle was, specifically his mental condition.
This angered Angle and was probably the final deciding factor for signing with TNA.
TNA isn't so bad for Angle because it gives him a very light schedule, while still being competitive and doing what he enjoys. But they're also notorious for lacking any effort to prevent drug and steroid use, so Angle's addiction may end up causing him more durress. Really, only time will tell.

No one knows that story except Kurt Angle and his management team. What we do know is this. Kurt issued a letter to his fans after WWE released him for medical reasons. He said he was retiring. One month later, we get rumors that he's preparing to compete in MMA stuff. Then we get the TNA PPV announcement and Kurt saying he finally came home and that the WWE was holding him back.

The story behind it is yet to be release on its complete version not the lies that have been going around lately. The WWE have said that they wanted him to take sometime off but he refused to do so and they released him to force him. His ans wer was the signing with TNA and talking smack about WWE. Bad Angle u don't bite the hand that feeds you.

He had some nagging pains and wanted to still wrestling and WWE thought he should take sometime off. Well that didn't sit well with Kurt so they let him out of his contract. 2 weeks later he signed with TNA.

I heard the drug policy had a bit to do with it. He didn't agree with it, but that factored in with the fact that he wanted a change and needed a break.
