Tell us if you are a guy or a girl, that will help us answer. Age would be nice as well.

Robinson Crusoe would be easy. All you would need is frayed jeans, barefeet (or flip flops) and a t-shirt.
We had literary character day for Spirit Week when I was in school & the BEST was the 101 Dalmations.
Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz may be too cutesy but at least you could carry at stuffed dog in a picnic basket. Or, you could be the Witch of the West.

I'll add more if I think of them. Have fun!!!!!!!!

Nancy Drew. Winnie the Pooh. Christopher Robin. The Cat in The Hat. Pick YOUR favorite book and pick one of the lesser known characters... you could even go with the Harry Potter books, but pick a different character from the book other than the "popular" ones!! Be different!!!

We do this every year as a competition. The winners are always the most original such as the dictionary or something.
If you can do it as part of a group you could each be a character from, for example, the famous five or fairy tale like Sleeping beauty. One year a whole form worked together to do Noah's Ark, with their tutor playing Noah. That was pretty awesome.

Pippi Longstocking

Any character out of the Little House Books

Since Pirates are trendy now, how about someone from Treasure Island?

That's all off the top of my head.

The saucepan man from Faraway tree-lots of toy pans hung around you? Mona the vampire? Moaning Mytrtle-with a paper toilet seat around your neck? One of the Little Misses? Cruella de ville? The White Witch?-All have won prizes at our school. Have fun!

If you are a girl, go as Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone and you can just dress normal. Same with James Patterson's Alex Cross, only you would have to be black. That's probably too boring, though.
