Start to worry if you feel pain, or if this goes on a couple more days. You might want to get an over-the-counter enema from your local drug store - these will soften your stool.
Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. Stool hardens and becomes impacted if you have low fluids, or if you are eating little or no fiber.
If you allow this to become impacted, then you won't be able to pass anything, even with an enema - and then some poor nurse will have to do what we call a 'manual extraction' which is as bad for both people as it sounds!

This can happen and it is normal as long as it's not a frequent occurrence. If you wanna take a dump use a stool softener like colace because there are no stimulants. However if symptoms do not improve milk of magnesia is the ticket. Phillips will do the trick, but tastes nasty.

This happens when you don't eat a balanced meal each and every day.
It is normal too. Everyone goes through this.
On a humorous note, obese people eat very little and Don't S H I T enough!

Sometimes your body just needs a rest, especially if you have been sick beforehand and had diarrhea or just plain had to use the restroom a lot.
If it persists though, I would see a doctor.
