I'm an Arab, we sit beside each other all the time.
But if I were you, I would really talk and learn about their culture, religion and ideas, maybe just maybe you would be convinced that we are normal people and really nice and educated.

erm....does it make a difference if an arab man or an american woman or a chinese baby or a black teacher or even a French kitten sat next to me,u or anyone ..?

I'd do nothing differently than what I usually do on airplanes.....read, nap and pray for no turbulence and a safe landing!!..

Note: how'd you feel if someone said:

"What would you do if a Black man sat next to you on the subway"

Talk to him and ask him why he was sitting in my kids seat. After that I'd ask him which country he was from, does he enjoy visiting the U.S. , you know typical small talk that happens in airplanes. I wouldn't feel particularly alarmed.

Ignore him, just like I do anyone on an airplane

Probably watch a movie, listen to music, take a nap, or possibly even start a conversation...Honestly, I wouldn't be phased. I wouldn't feel any different, then if it was a "non- arab".

No I wouldn't move and nor would I think anything I would more than likely strike up a conversation like I have before.

I would probably be more alert than normal but would try and be polite and just get through the flight.

I'd probably start asking him about his culture. We'd end up talking about Middle Eastern food...

I'd defiantly size him up and think of a plan.
