i'm going to be 20 in january..but can't go to bars or anything obviously because you gotta be 21...what are some good ideas for a birthday? i want to have a bunch of friends there but can't think of anything to do...

AWWWWWW to be 20 again!!! Can't drink or hang out at the bars? Have your own party where there are lots of friends with loud music. Take lots of pictures

- House Party: Find out if you can borrow a house, and take it over for a day. There are also places that you can rent for the night as well for pretty cheap. Just call around. Make a big thing about it. Invite all of your friends, and put it on myspace. Meet some new people, have some fun, and celebrate. You don't need alcohol unless you want it. However, a good house party is always fun.
- 18 + Club: There are plenty of clubs that allow people in that are 18 and up. Therefore, you could get into one of those. Get all of your friends together that are 18+, and see what kind of clubs you like. Then research on the internet to see what clubs in your area meet your tastes, and go club hoping.

You can do a group outing to an all ages (18+) nightclub. Another thing to do might be to have a theatre or comedy night with all of your friends, going out for dinner or ice cream before or after. You could also do a spa day with your friends, or maybe do one at home. My sister had a beading party once. You might also try some other crafts ideas like ceramic studios or something. Ice skating is always fun as is Bowling! You could book part of a movie theatre as well.

When I turned 16 my friends and I went to the lake for the day. We had a picnic, used the pool, and Robert gave us some memorable moments when he got chased by geese. When I turned 22 a couple of months ago all of my friends came to the club with me. I wasn't allowed to drink (student athletes get fined by the NCAA or something if they drink--even if they're legal...) but we all had a good time dancing and making fools of ourselves. (You only had to be 18 to get in to the clubs.)
In my opinion, the best thing to do is think of something that you and your friends like to do and send an open invitation and see what happens. You'll have a lot of fun and lots of unforgettable moments.

for my 20th next week, I'm trying to go to a spa to "wash away" my teenage years :-p
Ok, so I really want to go because I've never been before... but I figured it was cute. Take some of your closest friends with you, or plan something crazy bordering on dorky (like ice skating)... not many people do that but it almost always ends up being fun.

Depending on where you live....January is a great time to go ice skating....indoors or out. Bring some hot chocolate and snacks and watch everyone fall down and laugh!

mini golf is fun. beach bonfires are fun, and your older friends could make you a tasty punch of Blue Hawaiian Punch and Vodka. but dont drink the whole 2-liter bottle of it, because my friend had neon green poo the next day! i dont know why she didnt take a picture of it.
also you could go rollerskating or send mom out of town and have a party at the house.
