Why do you need candles? just switch on the light switch and let there be light. Candles now-a-days do not have standard size. the smallest would only burn for about 2 minutes, the biggest could burn for 4 days.

If you put the candle in the freezer for an hour or so before lighting it, it will burn for a lot longer. Alternatively, you could try soaking it in vinegar first. Apparently that's supposed to increase the burn time too. Also, a candle will burn much faster if it's in a draught or if it's not quite upright in it's holder.
Hope that helps.

An old trick is to pop the candle in the freezer for an hour and it'll burn for longer.

That is a bit like asking how long is a piece of sting (or in this case, wick!). Generally fat candles burn more slowly than thin ones
