Here's the situation:

The buyer paid me via paypal
I sent the article
I never had any problem before, have a good evaluation
My buyer has a ZERO evaluation, brand new buyer but with a weird name (like johndoe3272)

Now the buyer is telling me he didnt get the item and claim a refund... he even opened a dispute with ebay ...

what's my options now ?

I think you should always get "delivery confirmation" when you sell something. Of course, that's too late now.
You might ask him to ask his postman/woman if they remember delivering the item. Did they just put it on his porch (maybe someone saw it and stole it). If it was a small amount of money, you might refund it and never sale to him/her again. Also, do you still have the receipt from your post office stating that you mail it?
Might need that to fax to eBay to prove your side. Good Luck!!

I have been selling and buying on EBay for over 5 years. I never let people with a score of less than 10 bid on my items. For just this reason.
Unless you mailed it with delivery conformation. There really is nothing you can do. More than likely Pay Pal will refund the buyers money unless you have proof of mailing and delivery.

Unfortunately you just learned the hard way, same as I did that not every one is honest. And I know it really sucks, But there really is not much you can do.

Inform the buyer that the matter is being handed over to your lawyer. And inform eBay as well. Even if you don't, they don't need to know that.
If the buyer didn't get the item, he should get in touch with the postal service. Or I hope you sent it via express post. Even if the person doesn't sign for the item, its still traceable. This way you can say, well the time line is la dee da da. and you got the package at la dee da da.
Post your reply on ebay about this buyer.
Clearly mark it as being a con artist.

Was the item NOT INSURED? You and E-Bay are going to have to fight this one out, and from now on get a signature for the items when they are delivered. It may cost more, but the customers are going to have to pay it. Put a notice on your site stating that this will be the only option to receive your goods, and give an example of what you are having to go through now, but DO NOT name anyones name or you may end up in trouble. Just make it one of the clauses in your contract about the shipping method.

I hope you had the package delivered with signature confirmation. If not just learn from this instance and suck it up and send the buyer another one. If it's not too much money otherwise open a theft claim with the source you sent it through.

put a trace on it with UPS, USPS, etc, if you bought postage through ebay they can trace it - and once you prove that it's been delivered, paypal will rule in your favor.

that's why many won't sell to people with <20 positive feedback, but now peopplemight buy 20 cheap items just to get to ok feedback.

Work with eBay, good luck, usually ebay sides with the seller though, so have your paperwork.

How did you ship it? Do you have a tracking number? Did you insure it? What out any of this, you have a problem.
