I liked it! Jamie Foxx deserved best actor. The plot didn't make Ray into a saint. It was a good film.

I liked it pretty good except for the parts that were made up. I guess "based on truth" is not the same as true.
For example, the part where they said he was banned from playing in the state of Georgia. That never happened. I don't know why they make up stuff like that. I think there were some other "embellishments" but I can't remember them.
Jamie Fox was awesome as Ray, so despite the inaccuracies, it was a very good movie.
If you like that sort of movie, the Johnny Cash movie "Walk The Line" was even better.

The movie overall was good. Jamie Foxx was great. Some people gripe that all he did was an impersonation and that he didn't "create" a new character, but it's really, REALLY hard for an actor to completely erase all trace of their own personality and completely become who they're playing, and when I watched that movie I didn't see Jamie Foxx at all... I only saw Ray Charles!

I liked it & I didn't think I would because I wasn't sure that any film could do justice to the life of Ray Charles. I'm happy to say that I was mistaken. I've been a big fan of Ray since I was a little girl & I think they did well at telling the story of his life, even with a little poetic license. lol.

It was Jamie Fox's best movie role ever. It was an excellent movie, seen it dozens of time.
