Sharm is heaven on earth. There is something for everyone, so rest asssured there wont be a boring moment. I first visited sharm over 10 years ago and ever since then, I spend at least 2 weeks a year there.
Sharm is about Diving, swimming and water sports in the morning. The best diving in the world because the sea is amazing, the most magnificent coral reefs and very safe waters.
Night time is a blast, it makes Ibiza look small. Go to Naema bay, try Pacha night club or Buddha Bar or Hard Rock cafe. So many clubs, pubs you can visit there. If you are not a party animal, then there are dozens of restaurants the serve local traditional food, Italian, Greek, German food. There is even Mc Donald's there!
English, Italian are widely spoken so you will not have a hard time communicate.
Here are a few words that can help you out;
Sabah Al Kheir - Good Morning
Masaa Al Khair - Good evening
Feloos - Money
B Kam - How much
Fien - where
Ezay - How
Arabeya - Car
Taxi - Taxi :)
Enjoy

If you are a diver, head down to Ras Um Sid, the National Park. If you're not a diver, it's well worth giving it a go or doing some snorkelling - the sealife in the Red Sea is amazing. Some hotels have house reefs, which you can access directly from the hotel's beach. Otherwise, you can book a snorkelling trip with one of the watersport/diving centres. Red Sea Diving College are very good.
There's plenty of activities you can do on dry land as well, like camel treks, jeep safaris, quad biking etc. You can also do one or two day trips to Cairo, or maybe Dahab for a change of scenery. Your tour operator can advise you about all of these, & probably more.
There's also plenty of nightlife - well covered in the previous answer!
