Perimeter Formula

P - 2L + 2W

When the length and width are known of a rectangle to solve for perimeter

Example

Length = 10 ft

Width = 5 ft

Insert these valuel into the parimeter formula

P = 2L + 2W

P = 2(10) + 2(5)

P = 20 + 10

P = 30 ft

When the perimeter and length is known and you want to solve for width.

30 = 2(10) + 2W

30 = 20 + 2W

30 - 20 = 20 + 2W - 20

10 = 2W

10/2 = 2W/2

5 = W

When the Perimeter and width are known and solving for length.

P = 2L + 2W

30 = 2L +2(5)

30 = 2L + 10

30 - 10 = 2L + 10 - 10

20 = 2L

20/2 = 2L/2

10 = L

There has to be some numerical value for perimeter, Length and width

I'm not sure what you mean.
1) This one is the formula for perimeter.
P(L,W) = 2L + 2W
#3 is also the formula for perimeter. It is the same as #1 if you distribute the 2 through the parentheses.
