I jus got an IUD Mirena inserted yesterday. Does anyone one know if it would hurt anything if your sex partner has a piercing? The gyno did not seem to know. I was worried about it pulling it out. Im not sure about it and Im scared to have sex. And how often can you have sex on the Iud?

My only concern with the piercing is that it would get caught in your string and be pulled out. If this isn't a concern of yours then go for it!!

***Teen i had no pain getting my Mirena placed. I have had 5 kids! Some woman experience cramping I did not. I took Motrin 30 minutes before my appointment like the nurse told me.

First off, great choice with the Mirena (as long as the Dr. inserted it correctly. I had a friend who had to get it removed cause she put it in there too high). ANyway, the Mirena is a great product. The IUD is placed in your uterine cavity in your tubes, so unless your man has a huge member, you will not have any problems with it being removed by a piercing. I'm surprised your gyno could not answer that question. Strange. You can have sex as you normally would. Make sure to look on the Mirena website, they have questions like this on line that will be helpful. Didn't you research this before you got the procedure or did you get cause your doc said to? Make sure to always research before any medical procedure. Even one as small as an IUD placement. Good Luck!

I don't think it would hurt anything if he had a peircing. His penis would have to penetrate your cervix, and that isn't likely. You can have sex as often as you want, but if your worried about it moving or comming out, just check for the string.

I have an appointment to get an IUD on the 21st of this month (a mirena). So my question to you is : Was the insertion painfull?

and did you have a vaginal birth prior to this?

(i have had 2 and I heard that it's less painful if you've had children before)
