Yes, it is common. Your blood vessels dilate and blood pressure drops, so less blood to your brain. Don't worry about it that much.

Yes, and also if going from a hot room into cold room. It's normal to feel a bit faint, but if you actually do faint or are sick then you should go to your doctor and get your blood pressure checked.
You can avoid this problem in the bath by splashing some cool water on your face before you get up and out of the bath.

a fren asked me abt it so i told her and heres what i wrote to her read it maybe it will help! i think it should! (need more help do send me an im in yahoo )
yada: Hey one of the questions is why do people feel faint after a hot bath
sheeko009: its cuz
sheeko009: the blood from ur carotid arteries become vasodilated
yada: can't you have a heat stroke just like a sun stroke from taking too hot a bath and staying in it too long
sheeko009: which supplies less less blood to ur brain
sheeko009: and then u faint cuz if the brain doesnt get enough blood for like only 4 seconds the person faints
sheeko009: read what i said
yada: I did
sheeko009: vasodilation will take effect in the carotid arteries thats why
sheeko009: one faints
sheeko009: cuz of lack of blood to the brain
sheeko009: it jst needs 4 seconds
sheeko009: if lack of blood to the brain exceds 4 seconds he or she faints
sheeko009: and if a persons brain stays debvour of blood for jst 8 seconds it can results into brain death
sheeko009: means he goes into coma and u can say he is dead
yada: they are saying that they always feel faint when getting up from a hot bath
sheeko009: thats cuz
sheeko009: the bloood
sheeko009: has drained down to ur feet and
sheeko009: down ur legs less venous return
sheeko009: and less blood in the carotid artery when a person starts getting up
sheeko009: and we can simply say one thing
sheeko009: see the body is in the hot water
sheeko009: and the head is outside the hot water
sheeko009: so tempoerature change between the 2 parts of the body
sheeko009: so the blood is less in the carotid arteries which supply the brain
sheeko009: cuz there is vasoconstriction which means
sheeko009: like the blood vessels constrict to lose less heat cuz the rest of the body is warmer then the head
sheeko009: so less blood flowing their whereas more blood in flowing in the rest of the body cuz
sheeko009: its warmer and there is vasodilation which shows heating being loss from the vessels to the water and also cuz more blood is flowing their
sheeko009: there
sheeko009: and when a person gets up there is less time to recover from the blood lacking in the head or to the brain
sheeko009: so always try to pour the same water on ur head or
sheeko009: simply try to come out of the hot water or tub slowly
sheeko009: so that the temperature maintains
sheeko009: and blood supply is back to normal to the brain
If u have an more questions or want to ask abt something else then im me in yahoo messenger (sheeko009)

Yes, I have. It can be very dangerous. I have high blood pressure but it is under control and runs normal. But if I get in a hot tub for even five minutes I could die......From what you have said I would think you stayed in the hot water too long, maybe you kept adding more hot water.
It wouldn't hurt to have your blood pressure checked. I don't want to scare you, BUT a friend of mine has high blood pressure( under control) and went into a hot tub at a party. He was drunk and stayed in too long. He ended in the ER with symptoms of a heart attack.........

Yes, that happens to me all the time - even more so when I was younger. Something to do with blood pressure, I think.
