Playstation 2 does not work any more :-(
It reads the disc - sort of, but before the title screen appears the game freezes and the console makes really funny clicking/mechanical sounds.
If it does manage to play a game, the cut scenes will freeze and the sound will start jumping and the PS2 will start making dodgy sounds again.
What could be wrong with it?

take a screw driver and take the cover off...clean out your system...dont worry its easier then it sounds..get a can of compressed air and blow out the system, then take some windex and clean off the laser disk reader...etc...

The clicking is most likely the disk drive, but it could be the laser going bad making it freeze up.

Id say the laser messed up. Many PS 2 do that for some reason. Buy a mini PS 2 they work much better.
