You should have used 'copycats'.
Now to your question, I can see no harm or wrong in copying. If someone has done something right, choosing to follow their path, eventually leads to success.
Many great teams did so by copying the style of others. Choosing to ignore such methods and stubbornly seeking to continue in one's own misguided path, is a recipe for disaster.
In this instance, I have copied Bou answer and added upon it, to give the answer I felt like giving.
So copying really does have benefits, and the Mexicans are smart enough to acknowledge this.

I think they are enjoyable to watch and have some upcoming players who seem very talented. Bou and Romanis are right. Many Nations, coaches and players emulate or copy those they grew up admiring.
